Saying Goodbye to Pete & Angela

Today we say our goodbyes to Pete and Angela Sailhamer.  Pete has served off and on in various roles at HoneyRock since 2002.  Since 2007, he has held the position of Business Manger.  Angela has also been involved with HoneyRock for a number of years.  She was a volunteer on a work/play weekend, did SLS, was a Unit Leader, led the Service Team Program, served as a GPA, and was on Activity Staff this summer.  Pete and Angela were married in 2009 and have been a wonderful blessing to the HoneyRock community.  It is sad to see them go.

Pete is following God's leading and will be re-entering the military, an organization that is close to his heart.  Pete served in the Army for 4 years and did a 15 month tour in Iraq as an Army Infantry platoon leader.  This time Pete will be joining the Air National Guard.

We are excited about what lies ahead for Pete and Angela, and send them off with our support, encouragement and blessing.  Please pray for the Sailhamers as they transition to the new opportunity God has called them to.

What a Week with Northwoods Adventure

We have had a GREAT week with our Northwoods Adventure group.  We are sad that today is their last day here and that they depart tomorrow morning.

Northwoods Adventure is a retreat for alumni and friends of
Wheaton (age 55+) to discover new learning opportunities and enjoy rich
fellowship in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin.  The retreat takes place each September here at HoneyRock.

You Have GOT To See This...

Take a few minutes to view the new HoneyRock video that was shown during the HoneyRock chapel service at Wheaton College on September 13.  Meredith Elsen put this together, and she's got some serious talent.  We also have 3 new promotional videos that will be released soon in the 2011 camper brochure, so stay tuned!

      HoneyRock Chapel

      Liz Henderson--Program Team Asst.

Yesterday was HoneyRock Chapel on the Wheaton College campus!  HoneyRock Chapel is an opportunity for students to share with the Wheaton College community about what God did at HoneyRock over the summer.  Highlights from Honeyrock Chapel this year included a testimony from 12-year-old camper Joren Eklund (pictured below) and from two of our summer staff members: John Macikas and Melissa Greene.  Unit Leader Dave McHale led worship and shared several of our traditional camper worship songs (motions included!)  Meredith Elsen put together an amazing video that we watched together.

We are thankful for Dan, Craig, Ann and the rest of the Rock team who did such a fantastic job organizing chapel.  We praise God for the work He did at HoneyRock and the work He will continue to do in the lives of campers and students.
